The CTA Blue line is stopped in both directions from Sacramento to Irving for reports of a fire.
Police were on the scene at about 11:45 a.m. at the Logan Square station at 2620 N. Spaulding. The train conductor reported large amounts of smoke, and the train was evacuated, a CTA spokeswoman said.
No injuries were reported, and a bus shuttle is running between Jefferson Park and California.
