The wet weather that has soaked the morning commute is not going anywhere fast.
Rain showers will taper off by midday, but resume in the early afternoon. The area is due for half and inch to an inch and half of rainfall through the day. On Maryland's Eastern Shore, residents could see as much as 2 inches of precipitation.
In the late afternoon and early evening, isolated storms could produce severe weather. Strong, damaging winds and even a tornado are possible.
After 7 p.m., we could see lightning in the night sky up until midnight.
On Thursday morning, blustery winds will blow a big change into the region. Morning temperatures will drop into the 50's. Wind gusts could reach 35 miles per hour. Temperatures will fall into the 40's on Friday and Saturday morning, but the skies should be clear and sunny.
So far, the weekend and the start of next week looks to stay dry.
