One of Dallas' sports legends, and a recent champion himself, is calling his shot -- the Rangers in 6.
Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki tossed out his official prediction for this year's World Series between the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals via Twitter, thanks to a question by @Octoberty.
His pick of Rangers in 6 matches the prediction made by team owner Nolan Ryan. It also matches the prediction by yours truly, though I'd love for them to do it in 5 at home.
Another follower asked Nowitzki, who recently attended an ALCS game between the Rangers and Tigers, if a fist-bump between himself and Michael Young transferred the German's championship-winning powers to the Rangers infielder.
Nowitzki replied, "Ha. No. He has enough powers."
The Mavericks, of course, brought the first NBA Championship to North Texas last summer with a stunning defeat of the Miami Heat.
The Rangers, on their second consecutive trip to the World Series, hope to be the latest sports franchise to bring a world title to DFW.
