Metra Electric District Line inbound and outbound service trains at a South Side station are moving again after being temporarily halted Wednesday morning when a suspicious package was found.
Metra spokesman Tom Miller told the Chicago Sun-Times that emergency officials stopped inbound and outbound trains at about 7:20 a.m. to investigate a "suspicious object" that was found unattended at the 51st Station.
Miller said authorities stopped traffic in both directions for about 20 minutes until Chicago and Metra police gave the green light to resume service, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Authorities did not immediately have further details on the object.
