Get ready for another round of rain in the D.C. area. And if you're headed out to some Friday night football, well, make sure you have your poncho.
A flash flood watch has been issued for the region from Friday morning through Friday afternoon.
Some rain could start to fall Thursday night, but moderate to heavy rain is expected to enter the area by the tail end of the Friday morning rush. Much of the area could see between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain Friday. Some spots east of Interstate 95, especially southern Maryland and the Northern Neck could see more -- perhaps more than 2.5 inches of rain.
The threat of rain will continue into next week, possibly not clearing out until Tuesday, News4 Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer said. The heaviest will fall Friday with a chance of some heavy rain Saturday.
But this will not result in flooding like that which Tropical Storm Lee caused, Kammerer said.
