Two big power outages left almost 3800 people across the county without power Friday morning.
The first outage left 3500 people in La Jolla without power after a problem with the overhead electrical system. The outage stretched from La Jolla all the way to University City and including the University Town Center mall.
Police said the outage knocked out power to traffic lights, which resulted in a car accident.
Power was restored around 1:30 a.m. this morning.
The second outage struck around 7:30 p.m. last night in the Twin Oaks and Hidden Meadows communities, causing about 350 to be without power.
SDG&E says a combination of factors caused a problem with an electrical cable. Power was restored early Friday morning.
