Two Boys Injured in Avondale Drive-by Shooting

Police in Avondale are searching for a dark SUV involved in a drive-by shooting that injured two young boys.

Chicago Police report someone opened fire Thursday at 9:15 p.m. on two boys, ages 11 and 14, standing on a porch near Belmont and Albany.

Both boys suffered graze wounds to their legs and were treated at the scene. Police still don’t know what prompted the shooting.

Police say a dark SUV was also involved in another shooting an hour later, but it’s not clear if it’s the same vehicle from the Avondale incident, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Police told the publication the second drive-by shooting injured a 28-year-old man in the Washington Park neighborhood.

The man was shot in the arm while walking on the 5800 block of South Prairie Avenue, police said.

The victim also suffered graze wounds to the back. He had to be hospitalized but is said to be in good condition.
