Obama Returning to Los Angeles

President Obama will return to Los Angeles next week to raise funds for his re-election campaign, the White House announced Thursday.

The president will visit San Diego  before arriving in Los Angeles around 5:00pm Monday.

Obama is expected to  attend a pair of fundraisers -- one at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip and another at the Fig & Olive restaurant on Melrose Place and La Cienega, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The president is hoping to tap into entertainment industry VIP's with deep pockets. The 4:30 p.m. event at the House of Blues will cost $250, but a photo with the commander in chief will cost $10,000. The Fig & Olive dinner will cost $17,000 for one person, or $35,000 a couple, the Hollywood reporter said.

But it will be an uphill battle. A recent field poll showed the president's approval rating dropped sharply in California, down to 46%.

The visit will mark Obama's seventh trip to Southern California as president.  Previous trips included a fundraiser at Sony pictures April 22, a rally at USC, town hall meetings in Costa Mesa, and an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

The president will make additional stops in Northern California, including LinkedIn in Mountain View, California, to participate in a jobs town hall. The President's trip to Silicon Valley will be his first since the April 21 visit to Facebook in Palo Alto.
