The District of Columbia is the sixth-most caffeinated city in the United States, according to the National Coffee Association's latest National Coffee Drinking Trends report.
The District placed behind Chicago, New York, Seattle (shocker), San Francisco, and Los Angeles in the survey, which ranked the cities in terms of availability of coffee and the intake of all forms of caffeine.
If you're curious to know more about the methodology of the report, it's available for the low, low price of $425.
Clearly stung by the report's results, Washington D.C. will welcome 60 more Dunkin' Donuts stores to the area over the next five years. According to The Washington Post, the popular chain is set to increase the number of stores from its present 125 to nearly 200, a reflection of the city's potential as a profitable market for its products, including a certain brewed drink.
"We are all about coffee,"John Dawson, Dunkin's Chief Development Officer, told the Post. "We are a beverage company through and through."
Which can only mean good news for the District's spot in the 2016 edition of National Coffee Drinking Trends.
