Local baseball star and Marine pilot Lt. Col. Jerry Coleman will receive a special dedication at the San Diego Air and Space Museum Thursday.
The museum will dedicate a restored F4U Corsair to the former Padres broadcaster, who served in both World War II and Korea as a Marine Corps pilot.
The private dedication ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. at 2001 Pan American Plaza in Balboa Park.
The Corsair was originally built for the French Navy, and was a part of the Suez crisis before being returned to the U.S. Restoring the plane took about three years, the museum said.
