Two people have been airlifted from a crash site in far North Fort Worth after a small, twin-engine plane went down near Hicks Airfield Wednesday morning.
The plane came down in a field near the 3200-block of Peden Road, just west of the airfield, and sparked a small fire.
A third person is believed to have also been injured. The severity of the injuries are not known, but all three people were alive when they were transported from the scene.
The airport's manager, Don Browning, told NBC 5 that the plane is a Beechcraft Duchess twin-engine plane that was used as a trainer aircraft by Pro Aircraft flight school. The flight school is based at Hicks Airfield.
Browning said he wasn't sure if they were instructing at the time of the crash, but that he assumes they were. He also said the school's chief instructor was onboard the aircraft.
According to their web site, Pro Aircraft has been training pilots for more than 15 years on small single and twin-engine aircraft.
What caused the plane to come down is under investigation.
