Two fugitives accused of fatally shooting a high school basketball star are back in New York City.
Police say 21-year-old Robert Cartagena and 21-year-old Tyshawn Brockington were returned to New York Wednesday to face murder charges after being extradited from South Carolina where they were nabbed last month.
It wasn't clear if the two had lawyers.
The two men fled New York as investigators focused on them in the Sept. 18 shooting death of 18-year-old Tayshana Murphy.
The senior at Murry Bergtraum High School for Business Careers was a top basketball player.
Police found Brockington in an apartment with Cartagena, who was hiding in a closet.
