Gas Line Prompts Evacuations at Commercial

A gas line rupture has halted trolley service and prompted evacuations at Commercial between 30th and 32nd Streets.

Construction crews using a backhoe to construct a fence hit a gas line accordng to officials.

Gas service has been shut off to the area while repairs are made. Twenty-five residents were evacuated along with people inside nearby businesses.

The trolley line should begin running again around 10:30 a.m. police said.
