Plumbing problems forced U Street staple Ben’s Chili Bowl to temporarily close shop on Monday.
Ownership told News4 the restaurant might not be able to reopen until this weekend. Repair work started Monday morning.
But if you need you need your half-smoke fix, don't worry - Ben's Next Door will remain open.
Ben’s Chili Bowl has been a landmark in the Shaw neighborhood since opening in 1958. This year, the eatery expanded to a concession at the Redskins’ FedEx Field.
On Saturday, Ben’s hosts a chili-eating contest at the Taste of DC street festival.
