Four people, including two employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, have been arrested in a bribery and kickback scheme.
The third person arrested is the son of one of the USACE employees and the fourth suspect is the director of contracts for a Virginia-based company.
U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ronald Machen plans to announce the arrests at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.
Names of the defendants were not immediately released but a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity said the scam involved more than $20 million in bribes, kickbacks, and promised payments.
