A Denton man has been charged with capital murder for fatally stabbing his estranged wife, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for stabbing her daughter, according to Lewisville Police.
Police said Charlice Manning, 40, and her children were staying at her parents' home in the 100 block of Eastwood Place when Tony Jesse Burrell, 38, broke into the home at around 6:45 a.m. Sunday.
Burrell found Manning in a bedroom, stabbed her multiple time, and stabbed Manning's juvenile daughter when she tried to stop him, according to police.
Police said a family member ran to a neighbor's house to call 911. Officers arrived within two minutes and said he was still still holding a knife when they arrested him inside the home.
Officers said Manning was dead in the bedroom. Her daughter was treated and released from a local hospital.
Burrell is being held on $1,000,000 bond for each charge. He was also booked on an outstanding warrant for violating probation on a family violence charge out of Dallas County.
