The little piggies that were supposed to go to the market have gotten a temporary reprieve.
A truck overturned in Suffolk, Virginia on Tuesday, sending its supply of hogs on a dash into nearby woods. WAVY-TV reports residents are assisting in the effort to gather the pigs while the road remains temporarily closed.
Suffolk police say the truck was headed to Smithfield Foods when it ran off the road, rolled on its side and struck a pole. The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Another company sent a truck to load up the pigs.
