Closing Arguments Begin Tuesday in Cellini Trial

Over the course of six hours, William Cellini will hear the arguments that potentially could change his life forever.

Closing statements are set to begin Tuesday in Cellini's extortion trial in federal court. The prosecution and defense each will get three hours to sum up their cases. The prosecution will then get the final say in a rebuttal.

Cellini is the one-time Springfield power broker accused of conspiring with others to shake down the Hollywood producer of "Million Dollar Baby" for a $1.5 million contribution to then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich's campaign.

After closing arguments, the judge will give the jury instructions before the members start to deliberate.
