Two people who died when their motorcycle hit a truck on the I-5 Sunday morning while participating in the annual charity “Love Ride” have been identified.
Romarino Zeri and his passenger Julie Anne Cameron were among several bikers crowding the northbound freeway on the 28th “Love Ride," according to the coroner's office.
"Love Ride" is a charity event to raise money for autism that has riders travel from a Glendale Harley-Davidson to a concert and barbecue at Castaic Lake.
Traffic had already slowed from a previous accident when Zeri and Cameron were moving between the number three and four lanes on the northbound I-5 at Branford Street near Pacoima.
During the lane-change they got tangled up with the big rig, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Christian Cracraft.
“The motorcyclist was run over by the trailer,” Cracraft said.
LA paramedics pronounced the two charity participants, believed to be in their 40s, dead at the scene.
