Man in Critical After Police Involved Shooting

Man in Critical After Police Involved Shooting

One man is in the hospital after a police involved shooting in Kensington.

It happened shortly after midnight Tuesday morning on the 3300 block of F Street.

Investigators say police were patrolling the area in an unmarked car and in plain clothes when they spotted a 39-year-old man walking around with a gun. They approached the suspect and told him to drop his weapon, according to investigators.

Police then say the suspect fired at them and ran off. They chased after the suspect for a few blocks and opened fire, striking the man twice in the stomach.

The man was taken to Temple University Hospital where he remains in critical condition. No officers were harmed in the incident.
