Fake Joint Photo Won't Cost NJ Cop Job

Fake Joint Photo Won't Cost NJ Cop Job

A New Jersey police officer won't lose his job after he was photographed smoking a fake marijuana cigarette at a concert five years ago.

The photo showed Cresskill Detective Lt. Joseph Trumbetti in uniform smiling as someone lights a rolled up paper in his mouth at a concert at the town's recreation center.

Police Chief Edward Wrixon told The Record newspaper there was no trace of drugs and everyone sitting nearby knew it was a joke.

The chief says Trumbetti will be punished for not showing good judgment. However, the officer will keep his job.
