Two suspects have been arraigned in the deadly shooting of a high school basketball star in her Harlem apartment building.
Tyshawn Brockington and Robert Cartagena are charged with second-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Tayshana Murphy last month.
They were arraigned in Manhattan state Supreme Court on Tuesday and are being held without bail. They are due back in court Dec. 20.
The two 21-year-olds were arrested in South Carolina. Prosecutors say they fled there as investigators focused on them in Murphy's Sept. 18 shooting death.
Murphy was a senior at Murry Bergtraum High School for Business Careers and a nationally ranked basketball player.
A third defendant, 24-year-old Terique Collins, is charged with providing the gun to Brockington and Cartagena.
All three have pleaded not guilty.
