Healthy, Adoptable Animals Facing Euthanization

Healthy, Adoptable Animals Facing Euthanization

Volunteers for the Collin County Animal Shelter are seeking help from non-profit rescue groups as well as the general public so that the shelter isn't forced to euthanize healthy animals to make room at the overflowing animal shelter.

The shelter needs more space after recently taking custody of more than 60 animals that were surrendered by a local hoarder.

Officials said Wednesday that five dogs arrived that day and that 30 cats were expected Thursday morning.

Without the help from local rescue groups, the shelter said they may have no choice but to begin euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals.

Those wanting to offer support can contact the shelter or join a growing movement on Facebook to get the pets adopted.
