Two Bolivian gray titi monkeys have presented Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo a gift: a newborn.
The zoo says the monkey was born Oct. 17. Not only is the newborn one of just a few dozen Bolivian titi monkeys living in accredited zoos, but the zoo also says mother Delasol is the oldest monkey of its kind to give birth.
The zoo says mother and baby are doing well. Bolivian titi monkeys mate for life and the father chips in on parenting duties and does most of the caring of the baby. The zoo says the father, Ocala, and the baby's siblings are taking turns holding the newborn. The baby's gender hasn't been determined yet.
