Authorities have made an arrest in the death of a Moreno Valley teenager, according to the victim's family.
The sheriff's department has not confirmed the arrest, but family members of 17-year-old Norma Lopez said they expect an announcement Friday. Lopez's sister posted a comment about the case on Facebook.
"I waited 1 yr and 3 months and my answer that I've been awaiting for was finally answered. I promised this crime wasn't gunna (sic) go unanswered and the fbi didn't fail us. He's been found and he's in jail, we're going on trial...more info will be on the news tomorrow as there will be a press conference announcing my sister's killer has been found..."
Lopez's father told NBC4 the news conference is scheduled for late Friday morning or early Friday afternoon.
Lopez disappeared on her way home from summer school in July 2010. Her body was found five days later in a field. Items belonging to her were found nearby.
