Bedbugs Found in Pace University Library

Bedbugs Found in Pace University Library

Bedbugs discovered in the library of Pace University forced its closure on Monday, the school said.

The school notified students and staff that the bloodsucking pests were found by workers rearranging computers in a back room Monday morning.

After it was confirmed the bugs were bedbugs, the library was closed and exterminators were brought in, the school said.

"The entire library was inspected and only one small area was found to have bugs and that area and the surrounding area has been treated," the school said in its statement to faculty and students.

Pace said a recent inspection with a bedbug dog found no trace of them at that time. The school says it regularly inspects for bedbugs.

Bedbugs hide in many more places than beds and have been seeing a resurgence in recent years. Movie theaters, stores, schools and office buildings have all reported infestations.
