Queens Mom, Daughter Face Deportation to Bangladesh

Supporters are holding a rally to oppose the deportation of a Stony Brook University student and her mother to their native Bangladesh.

Nadia and Hazim Habib are scheduled to be deported Thursday morning.

Friends and family will be joined at the rally outside Federal Plaza by Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez.

It's being held outside a hearing where the Habibs are hoping for a last-minute reprieve.

Angie Hu, a spokeswoman for Sen. Kirstin Gillibrand, told the Daily News her office is working with immigration and customs officials to resolve the case.

Nadia, who's 19, came to the United States with her mother 18 years ago to join her father, Jawad Habib, who had a Green Card.

"We expect that ICE will fully and fairly consider the family's request," said Hu.
