Charges Filed in Gas Station Murder

Charges have been filed following the death of a gas station security guard who was shot and stabbed early Saturday at the station in the Garfield Park neighborhood.

Kaz Link, 33, was charged with murder, according to police News Affairs Officre Laura Kubiak. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

About 4 a.m., police officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress in the 400 block of South Pulaski Road and discovered a wounded man, police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said.

Dennis Fox, 53, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. Fox was a gas station security guard.

The incident occurred at 415 S. Pulaski Rd., according to the medical examiner’s office. According to an online search, a Citgo gas station is located there.

Link was bloody was he was taken into custody on the scene and police said two weapons and a knife were recovered.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
