Agents in Laredo Seize $1.8 Million in Cocaine

Federal agents in South Texas have confiscated more than $1.8 million worth of cocaine found in a car searched at a Laredo border crossing.

Customs and Border Protection officials on Wednesday said the driver from the Monterrey, Mexico, area has been turned over to U.S. immigration authorities.

Investigators say the seizure happened Saturday at the Lincoln-Juarez Bridge.

Two dozen bundles, with 58 pounds of cocaine, had been hidden in the floor area of the vehicle.
