San Diego police are investigating the report of a carjacking, kidnapping and robbery in Hillcrest.
A woman told police a man carrying a gun opened the passenger side door of her Toyota Prius and got into her car.
The woman was driving on University Avenue just west of the State Route 163 onramp around 9 p.m. Monday at the time.
She said she was forced to drive to an ATM at the Wells Fargo at 33rd and El Cajon Boulevard and withdraw money.
The two drove to Mission Valley where the man told the woman to get into the back of the car. He blindfolded her, bound her and put her in the trunk of the car according to officers.
The woman told police she feared for her life when the suspect told her that he believed he was "going to die today" police said.
The man then drove the woman around the city until letting her go at approximately 2:30 a.m. on eastbound State Route 94 near Interstate 805.
The woman used a call box along the highway to call police.
The car is a gray 2009 Toyota Prius with the license plate CA 6GID140. If you see the vehicle, police ask that you call 911 and do not approach the suspect.
