Santa Clarita brush fire nearly contained

Firefighters on Sunday further contained a blaze that has burned about 640 acres near Mint Canyon in Santa Clarita, and are expecting to have it fully contained by Sunday evening, the U.S. Forest Service said.

The fire, which started about 8 a.m. Saturday and spread rapidly, was 80% contained by Sunday morning, officials said. The fireĆ¢€™s cause remains under investigation. It burned through an uninhabited area near Mint Canyon and has not damaged any structures.
