Multiple Roads Closed This Weekend

Multiple Roads Closed This Weekend

Drivers in and around D.C. might just want to stick to their neighborhoods this weekend.

Multiple roads are closed, either for construction or festivals.

So without further ado, here’s where you should avoid in and around the District.

*The Taste of D.C. has shut down Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 9th and 14th streets. It will remain closed for the weekend and will reopen Monday night.

*The Chain Bridge is closed this weekend due to ongoing construction work. Cyclists and pedestrians are also blocked from the bridge.  Drivers on Canal Road won’t be affected, but they won’t be able to turn onto the bridge.

*The District Department of Transportation is opening a new flyover ramp that will carry 295 Southbound over a new interchange.  There will be lane closures on Saturday so traffic can be shifted onto the ramp.

*Metro is also affected this weekend. On the Green and Yellow Lines, the Shaw, U Street and Columbia Heights stations are closed until Tuesday morning. Shuttle buses will operate between Mt. Vernon Square and Georgia Avenue.

*On the Orange Line, East Falls Church and West Falls Church are closed until Monday morning. Buses will take travelers between those stations.

*And on Sunday, multiple streets around Arlington will be closed for the Army 10-Miler.

Got all that? Good.  If you didn’t, head over to Metro’s website, the District Department of Transportation, or the Virginia Department of Transportation for more info.
