Two water-dropping helicopters and 100 firefighters extinguished a house fire in Elysian Park on Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters were called to the home at 1357 N. Elysian Park Drive at 5:41 p.m.
The firefighters quickly put out the flames on the first floor, but then they discovered more flames on the second floor and in a basement, Erik Scott of the LAFD said.
Because of dry vegetation, trees and other structures nearby, a decision was made to call in the helicopters, Scott said.
Firefighters finished knocking down the flames by 7:00 p.m.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
